Project Description

Infra structure improvements to storm, sanitary, watermain, district energy utility, Hydro and communication ducting, Alderbridge Way and garden city intersection improvements, road construction surrounding the new Walmart super mall at garden city and Alderbridge Way. Sidewalks, retaining walls, stairways and railings. Landscaping and planting over 280 trees.

Project Challenges

In the heart of Richmond, working at Garden City and Alderbridge Way was challenging for staff as traffic safety was heavy on our minds. Ensuring that people are not in harms way from cars that tend to drive erratically, called for regular meetings and special attention. The jobsite surrounded the mall under construction which was led by Graham Constructors. Regular conflict with various trades was important to keep under control through proper communication and team work. 

Responsibilites

• Superintendent. 

• Traffic Manager and Safety Lead. 

• Managing Access and Egress to the Mall Construction While Maintaining a Construction Schedule and Ensuring the Contract Works Were Getting Completed On Time. 

• Weekly Meetings With the Engineer and Client to Ensure We Were Exceeding Their Expectations. 

• Management and Approval of Sub Contractor and Suppliers as Well as Their Invoicing.
