Project Description
Project Challenges
There were environmentally sensitive areas that needed to be monitored and conserved which was one of the highest priorities on this project. There was hopes that there maybe archeological artifacts to be discovered so significant time was spent with multiple indigenous groups to review soils as they were disturbed.
Working on a small road with some very big businesses allowed for some great communication and team work between the construction team and business owners to work on getting road improvements to their businesses completed in a timely fashion.
There were 2 live sanitary tie ins that needed to be completed on highly active lines that made for some great planning and execution. Concerns of soft ground and ground movement during preloading provided for a fully restrained watermain construction that also had cathodic protection. The intersection of 104th st and hwy 17 had recently been constructed and opened to the public. The local trucking group had desperately needed intersection improvements to expedite their pick ups and deliveries to CN intermodal and we were more than happy to facilitate new turn lanes for them to improve their turning movements in the intersection.
