Project Challenges

This project started right at the onset of COVID so that put a whole new emphasis on construction safety.

This structure was developed to have the tipping floor slab 2 stories in the air. The construction team had to form up the two-story walls and then we had to crane equipment into the center of the building, then conveyor the material in, grade it and compact it in lifts.

WE were able to have Surrey and Metro Vancouver agree to approve a recycle structural fill to help metro Vancouver with its sustainable construction plans. Tracking fuel consumption and ensuring newer tiered engines were used to reduce carbon emissions. Alternate measures application was required to worksafe for storm main tie ins to city of surrey infrastructure to ensure crew safety in the event of an emergency.
