Project Description

Project Challenges

Communicate and co-operation with Port Coquitlam Fire Hall no 1 and Port Coquitlam works yard to ensure their access and requirements of the area were not disturbed. There was a lot of fill to be removed from site to allow for the large storm detention system, with some help from a local group, the material was able to be reused as structural hill for housing foundations on Burke Mountain. Construction of 2500 Brentwood boxes was a challenge, however with a good team of staff and some friendly competition, everyone did a great job. Tie in to Live Storm system had some challenges but nothing a lot of sand bags and some high powered pumps couldn’t facilitate. With training and some careful planning on confined space entry, everything went well and the new system was fully operational before the rainy season.
